Default Got My XPS 1530 with sec 3350 screen

HI Guys, I got my XPS 1530 after a long wait, but i found out that there are quite a good ammount of scratches on the volume panel part, the screen cover below always touches the battery while opening the lid and there is considerable gab near the left hinge.

And of course i got the famous SEC 3350 display screen with a bit of light bleed on the edges. I am not sure how grainy is my screen...what exactly does a grainy screen mean??

Suggest me guys...

If you're not sure if you have a grainy screen...YOU PROBABLY DON'T! You've been reading around this forum too much

But hey, if you don't like it, call them up and return it or have a tech come out I guess

Sounds to me like you got a good system and giving it a bad wrap because almost everyone here does so. Be happy you got a good one man

That's what a sparkly/grainy screen looks like...

That part you are talking about that touches the battery every time you open your laptop is bad. I had to send my laptop back because of it.
I think you should send it back and get another one. if the new one come with bad screen you can swab them. if not then you are good.
You get to keep this system you have until the new one arrives. DHL. or UPS will pick your older system from your house. so it won't cost you time or money.

Yeah, this crap about "If you're not sure if you have a grainy screen...YOU PROBABLY DON'T!" is over. There is not variation in the Samsung screens in terms of the grainy, sparkly, glinty effect, only the fact that some users do not have anything to compare with. The screens are still readable and one of the biggest faults which you can plainly see in the snapshots is that the whites are gray. Obviously, every other color is grayer, too, but will not be as noticeable as the contrast between white and gray is the greatest. Note that light leakage is variable and completely unrelated.

?! You can't take a screen capture to show a grainy screen. That goes beyond not understanding a grainy screen.

If you like your computer, keep it. If you don't like it, return it. It can't get any simpler than that. And boy are we tired of saying it.

Those aren't screen captures, they're digital pictures taken with a camera. If they were screen captures they would be identical, and the bottom part wouldn't look like it got caught in a snow storm.

Hard to believe given that every other picture here looks like it was taken from a 3 year old cameraphone by an 8 year old with parkinsons, but I'll take your word for it.
