"Catastrophic Failure" while creating Restore Point

I had this and it took an "Upgrade Install". Which is not a Clean install but it's nearly as annoying.

Thanks to all who responded. I just uninstalled all SQL components from the list of Programs installed, and for extra assurance I put in my Visual Studio 2005 disc and optioned for repair. After restarting the problem was solved. I just created a restore point successfully.
