So I have been trying to slipstream a disk to get it to work with my u305-2812..

The only thing i am trying to change in nlite is the drivers for sata...
I selected all of the mobile lines in the driver integration box, and then made my .iso and bruned it to a disk, but i still get this error...

"The device associated with following device driver will not work corrctly on this computer: iaStor.sys
The device driver is not compatible with the x64based version of windows your computer is running.
bla bla bla..."

Any suggestions?

Just as an Update, I got my u305-2812 running xp pro x64 last week friday. The only difference for mine, is I took the sata drivers straight from my models driver page, even though they were listed for vista. I then used winRAR to find and extract the drivers from the .exe file and slipstreamed them to my XP Pro disk.

Hope that can help someone....

I have an U305-S7448,

I could make everything XP works including the sound. Thank you very much, [zok27], you are the man! I download this driver instead : MS UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. It works for S7448. The rest of them I used drivers for Tecra M8 .. 94.

Now I can use XP instead of the slow and memory wasting Vista Ho Chi Minh b*tch. (I live outside of Vietnam now so I can say whatever I feel!!)

Thanks to everyone in this forum!

God and Buddha bless you all.

Freedom for Vietnam and downgrading's fun!

OK, FiNE! You just don't trust the good man.

I'm uploading them to rapidshare for you. because I KNOW how DEPRESSED I was when I looked for those drivers for days!!!!!! Now i'm trying to help.

For Audio, to be honest with you, I don't remember which one that I used since I found 2 audio zip files in my U305 driver folder. the audio realtek 26359b one (hmm I don't think this works) and "realtek_high_definition_audio_261" (I'm pretty sure this will do). But I am uploading both 2 files anyway just in case.

Tell me if you need more drivers for this u 305 widowmakers

Going to try
Thaaaaaaanks you very much

EDIT: unfortunatelly, none of them working
I guess my hardware is dead, what else it could be, otherwise it is cursed.
dvd-rom was dead last month....
and im not using it very often, like once per week

How could I find if it is really a hardware error? eg if I install that original Vista which came with laptop, would that help?

deaf-mute laptop is a bit handicaped

usernamedont, try this one:

update driver > yes, this time only > install from a list or specific location > don't search. i will choose the driver to install > sound, video and game controllers > MS UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio

If you don't see it, I think you should google "MS UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" and download it.

I remember I did something with this "MS UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio", either downloaded it or found it in the winXP setup CD and installed it.

about your DVD, I am not sure how to detect whether it's a hardware error.

yes, i agree, deaf-mute laptop is not fun.
