For some reason my drivers pack didn't seem to have the NVIDIA drivers, but I have another computer accessible and am downloading another one to try and locate them. Everything else has gone smoothly so far. Just more drivers and setting up the dual-boot portion to go.

Thank you!

Glad to hear you resolved your issue, I sent you a PM detailing the exact name of the NVIDIA Drivers.

Regards,

Hackez

Edit: I have just sent my DV9500T into HP for some hardware issues, I will do a major update to the Driver Pack once I receive it back from HP.

Just to be 100% sure.. Prepare for a possibly-silly-and-novice-question.

I want to purchase a dv9500t laptop and use Windows XP instead of Vista. I'd have to purchase a Windows XP (Home) SP2 Edition CD.

I'm a little confused by some posts in this thread -- some talk about dual booting.

Is this a guide that completely eliminates and reformats your PC to a clean slate, and THEN shows how to install Windows XP?. (After burning the Sata Disk in Vista.. ?)

Just want to be sure.

Yes, this Guide shows you how to completely wipe your HD and install Windows XP.

However, you can also use it to Dual Boot if you wish, but those steps aren't included in this Guide.

Upcoming Driver Pack Changes:

- New Nvidia Graphic Drivers
- New Realtek HD Audio Drivers
- New HP Webcam Drivers (Includes Software Program, unlike previous releases)

Please note I will not be releasing any additional driver packs until I receive my Laptop back from HP. I hope to have it shipped to HP by tomorrow, (09/12/07) after that its up to HP to get it back to me.

this guide is only for reformatting your HD and installing Windows XP on a CLEAN hard drive.

most of the steps can be used to Dual Boot, except steps like deleting and reformatting your partitions.

yes it will. just for you, skip the slipstream part. just turn off native SATA support in your BIOS. proceed with Windows XP installation. install necessary drivers. reboot.
