personally i dont know of any program that will work.

try going into Start>run>msconfig

click on the services tab. then find something UAC related and disable that. disable anything else security related (unless its your antivirus or firewall.

reboot, then please try again.

i tried this on a 'fresh' dv9500t from the factory.... so worst case senario would be for you to back up all your work and use the system restore disks that you [should have] created and restore your system to Vista + bloatware.

Thanks.
If you continue to have issues I highly suggest posting on the official nLite forums, they will be of much more help than us.

Worked flawlessly! Now about this quote... Any ideas on how to get this going without being able to turn off SATA in the BIOS yet?

It is unlikely HP will ever release a BIOS that supports disabling SATA.

New Driver Pack uploaded, see the fourth post in this thread. Mujjuman will include it in his original guide as soon as he has time to get on and edit his post.

actually, no. thanks for reminding me. the Quickplay Directplay is Linux based AFAIK. there may be Windows Embedded versions out there, but i dont know if (or how) we can slipstream SATA driveres on there.

im glad it worked for you!!!

[EDIT]

it doesnt matter whether you use Windows XP or Windows Vista to make your slipstreamed CD, as long as it has the .NET Framework installed. i first used Vista to make my CD. then after i installed XP Pro, i made another one (so i can have a SP2 CD and to take screenshots for the guide) and thats why my screenshots show the XP theme.

Updates:

- Driver Pack link updated
- removed link for integrated graphics (driver is included in Driver Pack)
- some fine tuning

HP will be adding support for Windows XP with regards to the dvx500t Series sometime soon.

However, it is doubtful they will enable support to disable SATA in the BIOS now, or in the future.

So this Guide will remain of use to everyone and I will do my best to keep these drivers up to date.

Vote for sticky also!

Ok, I've managed to solve the problem with nlite. I tried moving the windows folder to a different location and running from there. Seemed to solve the problem.

I have installed all the drivers now and everything works grand. Mujjuman this guide is much appreciated, thank you!

I am short the fingerprint scanner driver though. Anyone have any ideas where it could be found?
