hey guys. Its been a few days since my last post where i said i would attempt to roll back to windows xp from vista.

I decided to go xp 64 instead of xp 32 bit.

Finally today i got the time to install xp (64 bit) and when i open nlite to begin the slipstreaming i get an error (see attachment) which is regarding the version of the sata drivers, in this case them beign 32 bit instead of 64 bit.

Does this mean the driverpack i downloaded from this thread will not work if i want to install windows xp 64 bit? where could i get drivers for that installation?

Has anyone managed to install windows xp 64 on a dv9500 successfully before?

thanks

Alex

I decided to get something off of www.finallyfast.com that advertised that one of their programs could stop your computer from freezing, so I bought it. After doing a scan of my computer, it said that I had over 30 errors, 13 of which were registry errors, so I clicked "Fix it Now" on the program, and it said that the errors were fixed. I'm now waiting to see if it did indeed fix my problem.

If it didn't work, could I just reinstall XP Service Pack 2 without doing all the Sata stuff since XP is already installed on my laptop, or would I have to go through all the crap again? If I could just pop in the XP SP2 disc and have it install it without having to go through the Sata stuff again, that's what I'll do.

If the SATA drivers were slipstreamed as in the guide then you should be good able to reinstall xp from the disc you made without having to do anything extra. You will still have to install the rest of the drivers after the xp install is complete though.

Hi all

Its dead. My notebook is dead. So now I'm without a computer of my own. And so is the torrent unfortunately. I'll have to rebuild it when either of my computers get fixed. Looks like I overstrained the hard drive running defrag and a game at once and something snapped. Not happy
