Default Dell Systems Tracker

Hey,

My name is Jamie. I spend most of my time discussing/moaning on the XPS M1330 forums threads. I have been trying to keep track of the Dell XPS M1330 order status' from the USA, Canada, UK and the rest of the world in order to try and gain a better handle on how things are playing out with deliveries. I even noticed one user try and keep a thread dedicated to this purpose but it soom became unmanageable.

I had an idea to knock together a few webpage driven my a SQL database and PHP to keep track of Dell orders. The system was designed with the XPS M1330 in mind but will work with any system (Inspiron, etc)

It is designed for us folks to be able to see the system configurations of others, when they ordered their system, when it is schedulled to be delivered, when it was actually delivered, and so on.

The idea behind this is to give some of us who still haven't recieved or Dell XPS system or similar to be able to better understand when we might have this priviledge!

To get involved please visit, register yourself to add your system:
http://www.pinekone.org.uk/system

Here you will be able to add your system to the database and view others. If your component is not visable you can easily add another. There are a few dos and don'ts.
- PLEASE DO NOT use the TradeMark symbol when adding components because it will not work properly!
- PLEASE DO use the javascript pop-up calendar for picking dates. All dates are in USA format (MM/DD/YYYY).
- PLEASE DO NOT abuse the system. You can add components freely. To keep things tidy please only add real components if they are not available already from the pull down menus.

Any comments or suggestions/upgrades just post here!

Cheers,
J

cheers guys - let me know if you have any suggestions on the primary columns I have chosen to display under the main "System Tracker" link. I've put colour and screen on 'cos i know they are parts that are holding things up but if anyone would like any others let me know!

Hey yes - there are two links on the left:
"my systems"
"system tracker"

System tracker will show you all the systems.

Hope that helps!

Please be patient while the list grows. I only launched it 30mins ago!

Added mine! Good idea! I hope this catches on. Also knowing people's discounts and possibly how they got them through the "story" feature would be great.

p.s. STICKY THIS!!!!
