Default SATA drivers for WinXP on the Sager2090...

I have already searched all the threads, and I cannot locate the drivers for SATA since windows xp pro does not have them. Already there have been threads about how people cannot install windows xp. I, like most other people would like to use my new laptop asap, so Im trying to get this stuff done right now I also do know about slips streaming, but it seems really difficult and I would rather not.

So long story short, where are the SATA drivers for WinXP pro for the Sager 2090?

I installed by disabling the AHCI option in the bios...which is fine if you are only going to be using XP.

The only problem is, if you are dual booting Vista...you will need to make sure you enable/disable AHCI everytime you boot into the respective OS.

Did you try the Intel web site?

Where would I look on the intel website though? I'm not quite sure I know what model or whatever to look for.

It's supposedly on the driver CD. I called up Sager support for the driver as well, and they pointed at the CD that came with the computer.

Or, you can just disable ACHI and install away. I really don't feel much of a disadvantage of it disabled.

disabling AHCI didn't work for me since my XP Pro didn't have SP2 on it. slipstreaming was way too complicated and time consuming for me, and I didn't want to spend $25 on a USB floppy. So I just installed 32bit Windows Vista Ultimate. So far, it's working fine.

well then I don't know whats going on. I've been told that Windows XP doesn't support the newer SATA drives so anyone installing XP without SP2 or driver update first will get BSOD.

Voodoofreak, if I'd have known that I've got the same thing. I wouldnt have had to ship my 9260 back! GAH. Ohwell. Sager and powernotebooks both told me that a SP1 cd could really screw stuff up so I never had the nerve to try mine.
