Default intel gma x3100 vs nvidia 8400 gs

i am looking at the hp dv2500t verve edition vs. the dv2500t. The verve looks really cool and is at a better value than the dv2500t but is the gma x3100 going to be a lot weaker than the nvidia 8400 gs. I am a very casual computer gamer and all i really want to play is half-life 2 which my current laptop can handle so I should be fine but I also want to play starcraft 2 when it comes out and maybe some other games. can someone tell me how much of a performance loss i will get if I get the gma x3100.

The 8400GS is much more powerful than the x3100 and the 8400GS is recommend if you plan on doing any gaming whatsoever.

x1300 is a much weaker card than the 8400 gs.

That being said, the x1300 will handle half-life 2 fine, but i doubt it will run starcraft 2

Yes the 8400M GS is better then the X3100 but I think both will have problems running starcraft 2. At least with higher settings.

He's talking about the X3100 IGS, not the X1300.

the x1300 is a integrated card so its benchmark scores probably is sub 1000 or close to it. Not very good scores. The 8400 I heard is comparable to the 7600 GS, which is a very formidable card. Now I say get the Dell 1520, just because right now theres a 300 dollar off coupon + it comes with a 8600M GT, which is a very, quality card, (very comparable to the 7900 GS) and will no doubt be able to handle starcraft 2.

Starcraft 2,from reviews is not a very GPU demanding game. It will take some processor, but i think a 8400M will suffice

x3100!!! Not x1300, the x1300 is an ATI dedicated graphics solution!!!
