I ran the live CD, which ran perfectly fine, so I don't think there would be a problem installing it.

I can't get it to work. Did you do something special?
I get the /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off error.
I tried this but it didn't work.

where to I write break=top at the beginning before file... or after the file path before boot=casper???
I already checked those forums and when I tried to run the liveDVD without changing the resolution i get a black screen with a blinking cursor. If I change the resolution I get just a black screen. Any ideas????

Btw is the liveCD different than the liveDVD i'm using?

LiveDVD only contains more software packages than the LiveCD as far as I know.

Check out this link. It's a fairly detailed howto to get most features on the G1s up and running. It's still a work in progress, but we've gotten the e-mail LED, the lights on the sides of the monitor, hibernate, and the webcam working.

Feel free to contribute if you get something working.

I installed ubuntu 7.10 and I have everything working except the webcam which I never use so I didn't bother to install the special drivers for it. It's awesome how our GPU and even our Wifi card is automatically installed. Awesomeness
