Default Need help with Network Controller driver

Hi,

I did a fresh install of XP Pro on my 3520GZ. I don't know how to install the driver for the network controller. It's the BroadcomNDIS2 file from Gateway website. I extracted the files, but there is nothing to install. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thank you.

Do you get .inf files or .exe files? If your get the former, then you can use the "Have Disk" prompt when installing the driver through Windows...and point to the .inf file. If it's an .exe file that you see, it's just a matter of installing the driver through the install program.

No, there are no .inf or .exe files. There is a DOS file that seems to be the one to use, but I have no idea how to open it.

This file is only 47k. Maybe someone can download and take a look for me? Thanks.

NDIS2 is only for DOS.
You are downloading something that's not the XP driver or it's missplaced on GW website.
Check your Device Manager for that component and do a driver update or reinstall from there. If XP cannot find the driver itself (generic driver) you should try downloading a new one from GW or other source. If you know the model you can find more drivers out there.
I guess you are talking about the wirelesss network controller...maybe trying something from a GW similar model.
Good Luck!
