MS UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio, is that one which is going like dial up 6KB/s?

I tried that one too, but nothing

EDIT:
By the way, when I turn off or reset the laptop, it freezes the screen: "Windows is shutting down..." and need to be killed by power off button.... is that normal ??

Going back to the original problem; XP doesn't install on first generation SATA motherboards because it's basically a bodge.

What you need to do is find the generic XP sata drivers (which I have kindly attached), then use nLite (Google it) to create an XP Installation Disc, making sure you specify the drivers I have attached.

Then taa-daa, you have a bootable XP Installation Disc which works with every SATA motherboard & drive I have tried it with. Beautiful.

Any questions? PM me. I might write a tutorial for it if there's any interest.

Hi there,

Any chance you can help a girl out by sending me a list of the drivers you used for the U305-S7448? How long did it take you to get all of the drivers and change from Vista to XP? (I'm trying to figure out how many more hours of my life I have to invest before I get a laptop that won't give me the Vista Blue Screen of Death). I received this laptop as an early Christmas present back in October 2007, wasted 3 days of my life with all of the system crashes every minute, and gave up and put it away for a few months.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.

My email is mswood69@yahoo.com.

For anyone looking to get Windows XP working on a Toshiba U405, the info here works well. Thanks to this thread I got everything working on a U405-S2826. The only thing new is the modem and audio drivers are from conexant.

Here are the drivers I found. They are on the Toshiba website, and the Intel website. To find the files on Toshiba website, just search for these filenames. Go to the toshiba driver download page for any model, then find the "Express View" link on the left of the page, and search from there.

modem and sound (might both need to be installed to work)
driver_modem_conexant_27323A.exe
driver_audio_conexant_27320D.exe

sata boot drivers, slipstream using nlite. I just selected all the drivers that come up in nlite. worked fine.
driver_intel_sata_boot.zip

The chipset drivers, graphics, and storage matrix I downloaded from the intel website unter GM965 Express Chipset. I wonder if storage matrix does anything?

Heh, I tried for the longest time to get realtek drivers to work for the audio, before I found out I needed conexant for the audio on the U405. It makes me wonder if anyone having trouble with audio might need conexant on some particular model of the U305.

Everything else I found on the normal toshiba support page for my model. fingerprint, LAN, wifi, cardreader, touchpad...

Anyway, thanks for the info

Hi everyone, i've followed a few of your recomendations on the thread, still having a problem with modem and LAN. for the WI-FI i found that U305-S7448 has an Atheros AR5006X, attached is the driver.

About the 3 piece sata drivers re-join it with a zip splitter like the one i attach here (hjsplit.exe)

If anyone has a light in my problem with the LAN drivers, i already downloaded from realtek the RTL8139/810x drivers and doesn't work and everest shows it as the Realtek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter. Also haven't found the modem drivers not even the model in everest but that's not making me flip since i'll hardly will use it anyway will be nice to have it working just in case need to dial-up.

I have exactly the same problem. No slipstream is working for me. And these files you posted are not helping.

Wish it was a sound issue right now. Thing is i can't make XP happen in my 7467.

Boohoo. Help.
