Us Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697?

What does everyone think of that model for $650 at OfficeMax, and criticisms?

That's cheaper than Amazon's $730 price. http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satell.../dp/B000RN3EVC

The notebook is older technology. All depends on your needs. For that price, I'd say that it's an okay deal. Don't expect too do anything to intense on it, mostly due to the Turion processor and lack of discrete graphics. Still, for basic usage that should be fine.

its good for a basic user who doesn' do much gaming, and using vista basic or windows xp. though its best to have 1 to 2 gigs for Vista. it all depends on your needs.

I'm also considering this one, however, I think soon after I purchase it... i will have to buy the 2G RAM. its currently $60/1Gig and $30 to install at Fry's. The unit does have 126MB dedicated video so its better than some in its price range.

I intend to use it to watch movies, surf net, mainly MS Office apps, minor photo editing.... I hope it will be good enough for at least 1yrs use. I originally was gonna order a Dell D830 but had so many problems with their customer service and delivery, I canceled my order.... still fighting with them to get back my refund!

I just want to hurry and get rid of my 5yr old desktop!
