na. it felt like the same game. but it has alot of improvements - melee weapons (extremely fun), different pistols, lots of different guns, new special infected, day time (why in the first one were they running around at night only!?)

imma buy it. its great. but its not super different.

Took the demo for a spin. I'm impressed. While the weapons "feel" more CSS-ish than their Left 4 Dead incarnation, it's not too big of a gripe for me. The music is slightly tweaked as well, so when a hoarde comes I have to learn the new cues.

And I like the new items, haha. Machetes are win, and I actually tested the AED by shooting coach dead. The special infected are a good additions, and the mechanic where you have to shut off the panic event changes the game quite a bit.

Despite that, though, I'm not buying it for full price. This game didn't feel like a mere expansion, but I don't think it's quite a sequel either. Should've been Left 4 Dead 1.5

But there's so many other games that are coming out/have come out recently that are much more worth the same money that l4d2 costs.
