Default nits for the laptops

Any one suggests please total NITS or CD/M2 for the below laptops

qosmio x505-q850
HP DV8

I want to know which one has best screen quality.

Nits is a measurement of luminance, or brightness. That does not by any means equate to screen quality.

acer 8940G claims 230 nits on the website. I could not find out for other two.

I tried to go ahead and contact HP, but the new dv8 is not yet in thier index for when you choose a model, going onto the Chat support.

So, anyway, i chose the HDX 18t. because, since they phased that one out, they are most likely using those LCD panels on the new dv8's....
...So, the HDX 18 has a 250 nit screen. I would expect the same for the dv8

Edit: i asked about the dv8, although he couldnt tell me there, he referred me to call in and ask at: 1800-474-6836. And they seem willing to give the information, so you should be able to find a definite answer that way

I don't believe any of them are using LED back lit panels which will put them all at around the 180~250nit range (realistically, not manufacturer's claims). The chances are they will all be using similar or even identical panels.

The HP dv8's screen claims to be 250nit. It's not all that hard to find.........

hp.com > software and driver downloads > See support and troubleshooting information > search for dv8 > Select any one of them > manuals > HP Pavilion dv8 Entertainment PC - Maintenance and Service Guide

HP makes all their recent (at least last 4 years) notebooks service manuals available.

HP consumer line support = useless.

In conclusion, those 3 laptops's screen quality will be more or less equal unless you run into a lemon.

Nice 5.7 posts ahl! Congrats (read spammer)

Yes, HP offers all manuals on their website easily to be found. (that is how we knew in the HP Envy 15 thread what was going on)
