800 MHZ Fsb? Thats pretty good!

20% better performance is not bad as well. They are on the right track at least. Now lets sign a deal with ATI

Now if these processors end up giving the same or better battery life on equivalent netbooks than Atom processors, Via will really have a winner in its hands.

It appears that they have added SSE 4 support. However, otherwise there's only a minor speed boost from the previous Nanos and an unknown change in power consumption.

Good news.
If they released a dual core Via Nano with virtualisation support we may see netbooks running "XP Mode". xD

Id like to see Intels response to this...
VIA could be taken the "crown" in this, considering those Atoms are VERY underpowered.

Default Re: VIA Intros Nano 3000 Processors

Man I want to see more Via netbooks so bad. Too bad that the deal with HP to supply 400,000 Nanos for the Mini-Note line fell through (Intel's doing?). And to think the Ion platform could've been exclusive to Via..............sigh............

I really want to see Via do well, because the Atom just kinda sucks. AMD's Athlon and Turion Neos suck up quite a bit more juice though they really are just older designs scaled down a bit to consume less power. The Nano is a nice balance of both, yet still retains alot more multimedia capability compared to the Atom line. Via really needs to get a dual-core version out (or maybe a quad?), and get them into thin and light notebooks with low end discrete graphics, unless the S3 group can pull a fast one. A thin notebook like the dm3z, with a dual core Nano, 4 GB DDR3, Radeon 4570, 6 hrs battery life for under $700 = win.
