I am thinking about getting the G72Gx-RBBX09, but I'm not sure, since the display does not support 1920x1200.

Edit: I want to get the G51J-A1 now, but I'm not sure wether I should but it with the new G51j3D coming out!

I think Abula hit it on the head.. The G51J-A1 is a great value for the price (just be aware the 260M is under-clocked from the factory). I'd also suggest the NP8690, but it's just a tad out your price range.

The Asus G51J-A1 looks very nice, and fits my budget just fine. Are 4gb of ram enough to play newly released games?

You are right, the NP8690 is too expensive for me

Thank you for your help!

Both are good etailers, either should be fine. I would ask for ICD7 upgrade, as most G series run hot, that way you avoid voiding your warranty later on. The rest comes fine as it is.

Gentech is in California and Xoticpc is in Nebraska. If you live in one of those states you'd have to pay tax. Xoticpc has free shipping on G51j, not sure if Gentech offers that on their website but they do have free shipping through their eBay store.
