Are you not surprised the amount of laptops that have come out this last week?
I wonder how saturated the news will be tomorrow with the Win7 official launch.

graphics seems to be a downgrade from hd4650, which is on par with gt 240m. how did that happen?

And the screen resolution could be a tad higher for the size.

Perhaps due to the fact that the i7 + Radeon 4650 produces more heat than the dv6t chassis can handle?
There's some good deals on this now, but the screen resolution is a dealbreaker for many.

Re: HP Updates dv6t Notebook with Core i7
The resolution is definitely a deal breaker for me...seriously, at least give us the option of a higher resolution 15.6" screen.
As for the graphics card...HP's consumer line has in my experience had very poor cooling capabilities in the last five or six years. To the point I would never consider an HP notebook with dedicated graphics.
I am surprised though to see HP continuing to use nVidia graphics solutions. After the debacle that nVidia put most manufacturers through in the last two years...

There have been more refreshes than completely new notebooks.
That said, I am also wondering how the dv6t will handle the heat from the i7 and the dedicated Nvidia video card. My dv5t has a similar design yet a C2D and 9600M GT and it gets toasty.

And HP also uses AMD. So we can say HP is not following all the other brands for that matter.

Re: HP Updates dv6t Notebook with Core i7
Why put a mobile i7 prosessor inside it when it boasts a lowly Nvidia GeForce GT 230M and a screen size of 1366x768.
If it had a cheaper CPU this notebook would be great.
(Just bump up it up to 1600x900.)

A lot of people that would actually need the power of an i7 don't necessarily need a powerful graphics card.
