Nice with the i7 cpu, but really wish they could have managed at least a GTX280. Also a sad loss from the slightly larger 17" brother is the 2nd hdd, always a great thing to have but even better now that you can do the SSD/HDD combo for max performance and still keep your storage.

Though this new m15x looks great, I am kinda disappointed they didn't keep one of the best features of the older m15x, which is the long battery life.

Oh and it does look huge though for a 15 incher, as seen in this youtube clip with both the m15x and the m17x.

That is going to cost a pretty penny.

But didn't the old M15x already have heating issues?

I have been using the old m15x for more than a year now, and have not experienced overheating issues. The only problem of the older version is the sub par build quality of the system.

Maybe it was just certain ones, but not having the 280m is disappointing, they already had the 8800GTX.

I really wish the "world's most powerful" tagline would go away for notebooks. They generally keep it in place even after some other faster machine takes its place, and some some cases... it isn't even the fastest from the start.

The only thing that appeals to me about the new M15x is the chassis pretty much and the screen. I'd still go for it if I had the money.

Heh up until it was taken down for the new M17x the old gen1 m17x kept advertising the Santa Rosa X9000 as the fastest mobile Extreme processor available in bold font under the CPU options in the customize page. This was way after they Monty came out and while AW was selling the X9100 and QX9300 in the M17.
