Sony to Repair for Notebooks Affected by Faulty Nvidia Chips

Sony has at last admitted that "a small percentage" of its VAIO notebooks have been affected by faulty Nvidia graphics cards. The models affected include the FZ, AR, C, LM, and LT series; Sony is offering to repair them for free if they are within four years of the purchase date, even if they have no existing warranty.

Free repairs without a warranty? Good job Sony, your helping to fix Nvidia's problem.

Yes, very good of Sony. Nvidia, on the other hand...

There's a reason I went with ATI for my desktop.

I like it. It's funny though how the notebookcheck article states that Sony has dragged its feet up to this point, and is doing less than other brands.

At least it's taking responsibility for Nvidia's damage. Hope the GPUs they put on the repair models wouldn't fail again.

The fact that Sony will admit/fix the issue and the tossers at HP won't.... just makes it all the more infuriating.

I thought HP did provide repair for some laptops? Although I think Sony is the only to give you three-year warranty on video card, others gave only two years
