Intel’s GMA X3100 integrated GPU

This must be a typo...why would HP return to the X3100 when that was largely outperformed by the X4500MHD?

If you follow the link it does say x3100....
Maybe it is a typo and maybe not.
In any event no big shakes ... inexpensive though for a "business class" build.

It is confirmed by HP website, it does use Intel X3100. What a rare choice, since the X4500 has been out for quite some time now, and it is proven to be a huge improvement over X3100!

And why is the AMD model more advanced? Notebookcheck mentions it has a dedicated graphics option (the Radeon HD 4330) while the Intel model doesn't.

Re: New Compaq 515, 610 Business Notebooks Launched
These notebooks are nothing to write home about; the styling is very plain and the specifications are lackluster. For a budget business machine I suppose it will work fine, but I would spend a few hundred more and get one of HP's real business class notebooks or a Dell Latitude.
This is the first time I have seen a Celeron Dual-Core used. The T1500 has a 1.86GHz clockspeed, 533MHz FSB, and 512kB of L2 cache. Talk about a crippled chip . . .

Re: New Compaq 515, 610 Business Notebooks Launched
I agree with Chaz here. For a few more, you can get a Dell E6400 refurbished, which will be A LOT better than any of this.
Only thing is that if the 515 uses an Athlon II x2 that might be a lot better, it is highly superior than an Athlon x2, and the 3200HD is not a bad IGP.
But the 610 looks like a waste TBH. Celeron Dual Core (a disaster) plus a X3100? Not even near the 515. Ironically, the better performer is cheaper!

The Compaq 515 looks to be a nice laptop (reminds me of the Evos back in the day), but mono speakers? What were they thinking?
