I think Max2008's seen it in person and mentioned the screen is pretty decent quality except the disappointing resolution, but that was old news.

I was going to order one, until I heard about the low screen res. They also didn't have it here in the local store, meaning if I ordered one directly from storage, I'd have to keep it. (as oppose to review and return; though no way I'm I keeping an 1440x900 17 incher)

I think they would be able to have them in store by the end of the week, when they call me, I'll go and see if I can 'buy' a system for 7 days to review&return.

Hi guys.. thought id chip in as i bought one this weekend..

you can have a look at my small amount of deliberation here, if you like: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=354592

id have to say though, in general im very impressed, ive only plaed l4d and wic on it so far, but both run maxed out at a very decent fps.... this might have something to do with the 1440 x 900 max resolution, which as far as i can see is the only real downside to this laptop. wic in particular looks unbelievable, its running in dx10, with everything on very high, at 30 plus fps.

As far as the msi rebranding thing goes... its clearly a rebadged msi gt725, even some of the bundled software was msi. Having said that, theyve taken out the automatic overclock button (hyperdrive or whatever it was), so im guessing that means the msi bios didnt support the quad core they stuck in.... no easy overclock then

id definately reccomend it though.. also if youre like me and were forced to buy from pc world, its a bit of a no-brainer.

if anyones got any questions about it, ill try and sort you out with answers.

Cheers for the info mate, getting closer to buying one myself. Can you tell what sort of warranty was on offer from PC World?

Can you try this benchmark? if you wouldn't mind, I'll send you the key if you pm me...

Also what are the windows experience index? (WEI)

As for graphics, you just go download desktop driver (9.2, and follow the instruction on this)
