Internal. It goes into the mini PCI-Ex. slot near HDD, and antenna wire goes from there to the small round hole on right side by DVD/BD Drive.

Regarding the bluetooth, the part number I mentioned is listed as the official replacement card for the HDX 16, so maybe that means it isn't combined with the 5100. But if it's not, the bluetooth module must mount somewhere that would require removing the whole base, not just the smaller quick access panel.

And while the base is off, does anyone know if you could buy WWAN antenna wires (if anythinf special) and route them internally around the edges of the laptop base? I assume the reception might not be quite as good as if they went to the lid, but would it be good enough? Do the antenna wires even matter for the WWAN card's GPS receiver's reception?

Default HDX16t Battery life
Let's talk battery life...what are you people with HDX16t's seeing as an average battery life? I have my Vista set on BALANCED, and with wifi disabled, and screen brightness on high, I'm averaging about 2 hours. Not very good in my opinion. I thought this Centrino2 chipset was supposed to help the battery life?

Also, I notice my battery indicator never shows an estimated time left, only a percentage. Is everyone else's the same way?

Don't know if you find your drivers or not.
I reinstalled Vista and I found all drivers at HP website.
You have to look for different laptop models. The one I looked at is DV5t and Vista 64-bit drivers.

You can get:
1. 9600M GT driver(I mod my own graphic driver so I don't use this)
2. IDT High-Definition Audio CODEC Driver
3. Quick Launch buttons/HP QuickTouch Software
4. ENE CIR Receiver Driver (for the little remote control)
5. Validity Fingerprint Sensor Driver
6. Intel PRO/Wireless driver
7. Intel ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller Driver
8. JMicron Card Reader Driver
9. Essential System Updates for Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)
10. Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH9 for Microsoft Windows Vista
11. Cyberlink YouCam Software

lancorp.....I'm getting just under 2 and a half hours on a charge. I didnt change any screen settings though and mine is also on HP recommended.

Hey guys... after reading the prior posts, hope everyone is ready to keep contributing to the forum - more perople=more opinions=better choices can be made. I finally dived in and got the hdx16t with the rebate and the 20% off live.com cashback deal. I also got the TV tuner.

Does anyone have a TV tuner in their hdx16t? and if so, could you describe its performance and quality (is it just like the ones in the dv5t, etc)? Just want to make sure that I made the right choice for the tuner.

*EDIT: Also, I just found a cool thing with the hp website... the intro to the hp.com wesbite was down (which I think was what the guy in the hdx18t forum wrote) and the reason could be a nostagia of the HDX20 days. Check it out!
