6860 Replacement due within 3-4 weeks
For those who don't know, I am a fan of the 6860 as well as a employee of best buy.
I was checking out employee tool kit today at work and found the info I was looking for...
The P-7811FX will begin shipping Aug 14.
The new FX is said to have a 17" 1900*1200, 200GB 7200RPM HD, 4GB of DDR3 800, and the 9800M GTS. That is all I can recall from memory

who knows but it wont be a big difference between these laptops.
by the way who will what more than 6860 (who got it for 1099$ like i did).

I forgot the sheets that I printed at work to scan and post, but the new FX will have a 17" 1900*1200, 200GB 7200RPM HD, 4GB of DDR3 800, and the 9800M GTS. That is all I can recall from memory
I'll go in tomorrow or grab the sheet on friday when I go back in. When I get it, I will scan all the specs and post them on here.

hrm... now the question becomes do i get a new 6860 when i get back into town or will it be replaced with a 7811-fx do to the fact that i'm outside of country for the next few weeks and cant go and actually get a replacement.
I'm curious.
I hate the hard drive, but i LOVE most everything else listed. I cannot wait until you insider trade that information away and we can all enjoy it.
Be sure to black out any markings that tell what store your from, just to protect yourself.

Nope. DDR2 and DDR3 can both be clocked at 800 Mhz, but like I said, he seems to have specified DDR3 RAM, so it's looking to be a Montevina Chipset. |

It will be a very nice system. From what I saw today, we aren't recieving any more shipments of the 6860.

Yes, but the notebook comes with it, so no worries there. I was wondering about that as well.
Also, your sig is a tad big I think, might want to cut it down a few lines. And 3dmark vantage, not vintage.
I hope they reinforced the screen cover this time. I really do. |
