Well, when I installed XP the camera actually worked for me. it's just listed as a USB camera (generic name) but you know...I'm kind of anal and I'm trying to get it to recognize it as the Sony camera. Can you get it to function at all?

No, no function whatsoever, but maybe it's because I have the service pack 3 for XP installed that it doesn't work...

That's possible, since SP3 is still in beta. All I can recommend is reinstalling Windows perhaps. I'm running SP2 and it noticed the camera right away, but like I said it's listed as a generic model. There has to be some rhyme or reason that its not working.

Hello guys,
I registered just to answer your question...
You already got the first problem taken care of, which is to extract the sony vista driver to get its content.

- Now that you have the content you can go to device manager, right-click the Imaging USB device (the webcam) and click update driver.
- On the wizard, where it asks if you want to connect to windows update to search fro the driver, select no not at this time and click Next
- Now on this screen, select the second option (Install From a specific location (Advanced)) and click Next
-Now check the "Include this location" option and browse to the folder where
the content was extracted.

This should work without a problem. Note, it may still be labled as "USB Video Device" in device manager, but the camera will fully function regardless.

Let us know how it goes.

Hello

I am not sure if I have the same problem but please help anyway if you know the answer.

I have an FZ240E and just the other day everytime i use the camera it gives me the " NO INPUT" blue screen. It's also telling me that it has failed to initialize and I have to close other programs that might be using it. Weird since there are no other programs. Another weird part is that it works when I use it for Yahoo Messenger.

This is what i've done so far, Downloaded the install from esupport, which turned it from VCCU 2.5 into 2.7. I've tried to update the drivers but it's telling me that the best driver is already installed. I tried also to fix it by Microsoft Hot Fix but still doesn't work. Can someone please lead me to the right directions? Thanks in advance.
