Default Re: HP laptop's hard disk average lifespan

Hp does not manufacture harddrives. Hp mainly uses fujitsu/toshiba drives in their laptops.
The harddrive manufacturers for laptops are:
Hitachi, Seagate, Western Digital, Samsung, Toshiba, and Fujitsu.
Usually hitachi are the most reliable harddrives to buy. Many have great opinions on seagate and WD drives.
Usually a laptop harddrive will last around 5000-7000 hours before failure, but by the time that happens, in say 3 years, you can upgrade to a larger and faster harddrive.

Welcome to nbr,
