All 3 cd's in total are 1.47gb

I've tried the WLAN drivers from the recovery CD (#3), and I've also downloaded the WLAN drivers from the Intel site. However it still won't allow me to connect to my router which is using WPA encryption. Am I missing something?

I had the same problem, nearly bought a new laptop!

The Wifi card in the MV1214 is only a/b compatibly and WAP encryption requires a/b/ and i (or g I cant remember) Anyway its an easy solution, on the bottom of the laptop you open the cover that has the wifi card in it (its a mini pci card) unclip the aerial wires and take the card out, then replace with a pci wifi card that can support the newer wifi standard.

I know this because I have done it and it works! If you like I can tell you which wifi module I bought, I got it off ebay for about £8.

I have looked at mine, its under the panel with 3 screws on the bottom of the laptop, replace the wifi card with:

broadcom bcm94318mpg

you can get them on ebay for £5, using the XP driver to install it in windows and you will be able to connect to all modern WPA encrypted networks.
