How much do you know/understand about VPNs? Do you have a lot of experience, or do you have little or no experience with them? Have you done any reading about how a VPN works, and what you need to utilize a VPN?
If you have a problem, do everyone a huge favor: post the exact error message. Don't abbreviate or paraphrase.

If you have "use remote gateway" enabled, use your own DNS and are using an encrypted protocol then no they have no idea what you are visiting.

If technical jargon sounds like greek to you I will give you a free program link to how you can hide surfing from your ISP. Keep in mind that hiding your surfing habits stretches much deeper than just using some proxy and/or encrypted protocol.

To answer your question however, yes it is possible for your ISP to know which websites were visited. Some evil-doers are aware of being between parties and use packet sniffers to try analyzing all kinds of information. An example of such a packet sniffer is WireShark ( http://www.wireshark.org/ ).

If you are ever curious to know how many servers your data jumps through you can use a program on Windows called tracert ( http://kb.iu.edu/data/aihy.html ). Anyone of those hop's could be an eavesdropper so just be cautious. I wish you the best of luck and happy surfing.
