32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
Will a 32 bit antivirus program like Symantec client security work on a 64 bit version of vista?

Re: 32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
Wait...I run 64bit with 32bit AVG. Are you saying it does no good? Is it not possible for a virus to enter and affect 32bit programs through x86 within 64bit Vista?
I use 32bit browser because video works easily. Is it not possible to get through by this method?

Ok so do NOD32 have a 64 bit compatible version?, as this seems popular if i need to buy a new one.

Re: 32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
I would think NOD32 would work fine on Vista x64 - it works fine on Vista (had it installed on all of my Vista machines before I formatted them and installed XP) and I have it running on my XP x64 machine.
You can download a trial version if it.NotebookReview Writer & Reviewer

Re: 32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
32 bit security software don't work on x64 OS, but if it's a 32 bit process doesn't necessarily mean that it will not work. AVG now works on 64 bit OS.

Re: 32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
My question is still the same...
Can a 32bit virus hit a 64 bit system through 32 bit programs such as IE?

Re: 32bit Antiirus on 64bit Vista
Flam technically it can't be happen,Because 64Bit windows kernel is different than 32Bit,but we can't 100% sure about that!
I heard 14 Years old virus affect vista 32Bit. We all know 14 years ago virus writers never heard about 32 Bit system & they never target Vista ,Windows is not so safe like MS state.
