You bought a mouse pad for an mk1. You need a mouse pad for an mk2 and later.

You can always post your model number. Or reboot go into bios and on the main page it will say bios version. What ever the bios version starts...
The mk1-4 has a different pci interface than the mk5 and later. The mk1-4 takes a 2 screw WiFi card & mk5 and up takes the 1 screw WiFi cards.
You can try it in a mk5 or later. Let us know if it works.
Try a different power adapter. If still happens disconnect all power and unplug cmos battery for 10sec.

Make sure you unizpped the zip file into the dos folder. There should be a readme once unzipped that will explain what to run to enable
Looks like a lot of extra batteries. Has the mini battery so you can hot swap the main batteries.
Make sure gps is set to auto in the bios. Also on the bios exit page there is a diagnostic option. Make sure the gps shows up and passes the test.
Change the AMT port to anything above com3. The ports are overlapping and the gps has to use com3
