Can you decrease the power limit? Decreasing the power limit and raising the clock speed would be a way to undervolt.
It's possible, with new heatsink
Select High Performance power plan.
What are your temperatures? Have you undervolted the CPU/GPU? Which kind of thermal paste do you use?
@Xharos just curious:
- have you covered the full die in LM? There seem to be open spots around the edges
- have you used a foam dam or other...
Fan control is just awesome.
Tesa isolating tape is heat and even flame resistant. But let's be clear if you apply LM en your temps >90 degrees You're Doing It Wrong ;-)
I don't know if this is sane but have you tried shaving off the top part of the 1mm pads with a razor?
That would be the practical solution indeed, but then I would have to repaste again with LM, retape the die, etc which I'm loath to do because I...
I had to reattach a thermal pad when repasting and wanted to check if it did its its job...
Sold as 'heatsink upgrade'
On the other hand, the advantages of a non-unified heatsink depend on the type of workload, as I understand it.
Is there any way to check my VRAM temps? Can't see it in Hwinfo64 nor gpu-z.
The tools haven't been updated for some time, unfortunately.
I now have an issue that after changing resolutions the control center remains...
Yes, so it seems I have the weaker one.
It's actually two different types. The site claims it's for 1060-1070-1080 models.
This is the one I have:
This is the other one:
I think it's this one.
The tape is indeed quite thick, but it works, at least for the moment.
My GPU was reaching temps > 90°C in games like the Witcher 3 in a matter of seconds. So I decided to repaste it with Conductonaut. My laptop came...
@Mr. Fox after a few months did the straws hold? Planning on repasting myself tomorrow and I wanted to try your method.
Can't easily find of 33+...
I concur with @Fluxtronics . The Tongfang threads are among the most active...
Doesn't this depend on the reseller?
