I don´t think this system will support FHD, i think HD+ is a very good compromise with that system spec
if you need to buy a new vga card, it might be an idea to check with mcj in japan, as they are also carrying high end Clevo Modells.
in general both VGA Manufacturers are using the same MXM Standard.
At this moment all Clevo High End Modells are shipping with MXM 3.0.

you might contact Kobalt Computers, since they are reselling Clevo Products in the UK. not sure if they can help, but it might be worth a try
what we should keep in mind, that HD 5870 also has a 75 Watt TDP as the full module is concerned... so 100 W don´t scare me too much if the system...

if i am not mistaken these are getac (mitac) machines. they are used in several countries but most of the time under getac brand.
I don´t believe there is any 14" Clevo Barebone in Europe. Their is no real market for it, as most of the people are going for 15.6".

The combination of Core i7 CPUs and an entry level GPU doesn´t look very attractive to me
maybe Twinhead is an option for you, if semi rugged is the most important feature.
the combination with the lowest end GPU is just probably not really smart..
