reloaded windows, now running hot. why? (QX411)

Hi all,

I just formatted my drive and reloaded Windows (7 Home Premium). The only changes I've made at this point are installing Evernote and a few of the portable apps suite.

I currently have 10 tabs open in Google Portable, two windows in Evernote and a Notepad open, and the computer's fan is spinning and whining like crazy. This was not the case before when I had 2/3 of my hard drive full and I was running 4-6 installed apps.

The computer is 7 months, old. What the hell gives? Does Google Chrome Portable really freak the computer out?

Any suggestions?

Run HWiNFO and see if the CPU is running continuously at full speed. If it is, then look in Task Manager to see if any process is fully loading the CPU (25% or more CPU utilization) and kill that process. Does the CPU speed reduce? If not then select a balanced performance power profile.

Thanks. I rebooted and the issue hasn't returned, but I will use this going forward.
