Re: The New 2012 Samsung Series 9 13.3"
Titan Silver looks like a dark grey matte finish. I think its nice. BTW, black will be more prone to scratches and fingerprints - if aesthetics matter to you.

Re: The New 2012 Samsung Series 9 13.3"
The dark grey matte version is what i was referring to as black. This is what I mean by silver. Perhaps it is just he lighting and they are in fact the same color, but I'm quite certain I read somewhere that it will come in different colours for different regions. I very much prefer the dark matte finish, and I don't think I will end up getting this laptop if I can only get it in silver.
Edit: Take a look here. It definitely looks like there are two different colours.
Edit2: found the quote from here: "It has a matte finish on its 100% aluminum body, which will be mineral ash black for the US and silver for the rest of the world." The name titan silver is ambiguous and confusing. I guess I'll have to skip the pre-order and see how they look once they come out.Last edited by dipdeol; 17th February 2012 at 04:36 PM.

Re: The New 2012 Samsung Series 9 13.3"
I think those are the pre-production models you are looking at. If you look at the trackpad there are no chrome linings around them. From what I know and at looking at several Korean sites, the release models are all black and have a subtle chrome lining around the trackpad.
Here's an unwrapping link: »ï¼ºµô¶óÀÌÆ®¼¥ °ø½Äºí·Î±× :: ³×À̹ö ºí·Î±×
Does anyone know where I might be able to buy the 13 or 15 inch in person once it releases? I kind of need a new laptop soon as I am leaving for Korea next month. I've been looking at the Macbook air and the series 9.
And as you guys all know prices in Korea are jacked up for some reason... so I need to purchase it in the U.S.
Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do here?

Best Buy will probably sell it
That doesn't look like a chrome ring around the trackpad, it looks like the guy didn't take the plastic off the palmrest

@dipdeol thanks for clearing that up. The silver one looks strikingly too similar to a macbook for my tastes.

Material-wise, I am a big fan of the durilium. My laptop did not suffer from any wifi issues, but I wouldn't mind if they decide to bring it back sometime and better place the wifi antennas. The dark aluminium looks nice too though.

All-new Samsung SERIES 9 Hands-on Review - YouTube Not a REVIEW, but an official AD.
Samsung Series 9 13.3"
Intel Core i5-2467M 1.60GHz / 4GB DDR3 / 128GB SSD / Intel HD Graphics 3000 / 802.11AGN / WiDi Capable / Bluetooth / HD Webcam / USB 3.0 / Windows 7 HP
$1399
Samsung S9 is priced higher than both the Macbook Air 13" and Asus UX31 13"; I really have a hard time justifying in buying it as my next laptop and desktop replacement. The specs are comparable to the Macbook Air and UX31 (minus the backlit keyboard). It doesn't live up to the promise as being a premium laptop in my eyes. It is essentially an overpriced ultrabook.
Samsung is going for a niche market just like how the Sony's Vaio Z laptops are aimed at 'business users'. The new Vaio Z's are currently priced at $1699 and offers faster processor speed, 1gb dedicated graphics card, and external optical drive.
However, when choosing a new laptop - I am mainly concerned about the screen and keyboard. MBA - Love it, but hate the OS. UX31 - uncomfortable keyboard. Z830 - no 1600 x 900 res. Vaio Z - uncomfortable keyboard and I don't like the external dock. Despite having not tested the S9, I truly think I will like the matte screen and keyboard.
I really think that all this ultrabook hype is getting to me. After reading countless reviews and articles about current, and upcoming ultrabooks; I've somehow convinced myself that I need one. Hell, this laptop will have the same fate as my current laptop - being plugged in and hooked to my 24" monitor most the time - with the occasion of being brought to school twice or thrice a week.Last edited by laidback; 18th February 2012 at 01:45 AM.

Re: The New 2012 Samsung Series 9 13.3"
Amazon had previously listed the NP900X3B-A01 as "Out of Stock," (which is typical in advance of expected launch) but today I see it is listed as "Usually ships in 1 to 2 months."
Amazon.com: Samsung Series 9 NP900X3B-A01US 13.3-Inch Laptop (Titan Silver): Electronics
They do not show that they will sell the 15-inch at all.

Is it possible that Best Buy will have the new series 9 on the 27th?
