The light remains on even if the backlight is turned off.
Hi @all. I'm new to this forum. First time Samsung laptop buyer.
My Lenovo t61 had the"nvidia bug" and after Leovo's rejection on replacement (warranty was over) i bought the Samsung NP700Z5a.

Despite the problems with OpenGL I'm having another one with the F12 (WiFi) key.

F12 key is always lit. Regardless of WiFi off/on.
There is just one settings which makes it go off --> switching to ECO Mode in Easy Settings - Power Management.

I took some pictures of this wrong "light" behavior. (See attachments)

    1st one:
WiFi off / ECO Mode off

    2nd:
WiFi off / ECO Mode on

    3rd:
Windows boot (F12 light is on)

Comparing F12 keys behavior to F6 (Mute) key:
As F6 (Mute) is also having an indicator light (muted / not muted) its light goes on when the volume is muted and off when it is unmuted, regardless of the power scheme chosen and regardless of ECO Mode on/off.

This is imho the expected behavior also for F12 (WiFi) key.

I'd like you owners to check if F12 light behaves just like mine or if it goes off when WiFi is turned off.

Remember: For this test you need to turn ECO Mode off in Easy Settings - Power Management

My wifi light is always on, but it doesn't bug me. Good reference point to find the backlight controls if I go into a dark room and have to find them.

The light isn't just for WiFi its for Bluetooth as well. You need to switch both off to switch off the light.

After reading everything... all things considered... is this a recommended buy? i would be watching 1080p movies (on MPC-HC) by myself, a little Hulu but nt much, alot of netflix streaming, and browsing the web.
I considered the Envy 15... 1080p and beats are nice but i dont wanna lug 6+ around allday and everytime i look at it, makes me wanna get a MBP. I also considered the MSI x460DX (about an inch, nice battery, but 1366x768 screen). And finally the Compal PBL21 (1080p but something about it i dont like).
