I haven't tested the new driver, but I use 10.7.5.0 aswell, and everything works fine for me, so I won't upgrade atm I think.

Yeah, don't do it if you want to use the click function.
Epic screwup from the driver team.

10.7.11.5 has a file named ETDDeviceInformation.exe. You can see realtime information from the touchpad. Watching the output I was able to see and quantify a problem that I have noticed. The problem is that even though I dial down the sensitivity I still get stray taps. Viewing the output it becomes apparent that the sensitivity setting is only applied to drags. The setting is simply ignored for taps.

Also, you can enable the display of touchpad rejection UI in ETDAniConf.exe if you change the value of TouchPadRejection_Display from 255 to 1 at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Elantech\SmartPadDisplay. It controls whether or not the touchpad is active while typing.

I upgraded mine to 10.7.12.6 and everything seems to be running smoothly. I also have no problems with either left or right click.

But can you use the clickpad?
Not just the left and right corners, but the entire pad.

Yes. Both right and left click.

10.7.11.5 was buggy the click pad didnt work properly, and moving the mouse slowly it would pause and jump around. i am going to try and find 10.7.5.0 and give that a try

The reason that the mouse is buggy and jumping around is the sensitive. I turned my almost at max and eliminate this. However, as a trade off, when typing, if I place my palm near the touchpad, it will move the cursor. I'm using the 10.7.11.5 and the click pad seems not working. But I don't really mind about it because you have to press it so hard instead of just tapping it which make it easy to interact. I'm used to the tradition mouse pad on some previous generation laptops and I have to admit that Elan software is really suck compare to Synaptic although Synaptic has some compatibility issues. Overall right now, I am more familiar with this touchpad. Hopefully Elan can provide us more stable driver and software.

I too just updated to 10.7.12.6 through the Easy Software Manager. What a failure by the Elan/Samsung driver team. Why would you disable the use of the clickpad? What would be the point of having a whole click pad if you can only use the bottom corners? I bought this computer in part because of the clickpad and would not have bought it without.

I too will be rolling back my drivers, but I just do not understand the thought process behind this decision.

Someone with the Series 7 should raise this new driver issue with Samsung.
