Well guys... it seems that the screen's gonna kill this laptop. Too bad.

Not so happy, but I'm gonna give Sony another chance, IMO screen is more important than brute force.

Have you seen the screen yourself and messed about with the settings to adjust it if needed?

No, not really. I'm gonna wait a little bit more to see the final flagship version. But from youtube videos (I'm not talking about the promos) and the comments of people round here who bought it, it's obvious that the screen is mediocre at best. I mean, at least the viewing angles, which are very bad, and possibly the contrast ratio. The resolution alone doesn't mean too much. Only the brightness seems to be good enough. Anyway, have to wait for the professional reviews like notebookcheck, blunt figures don't lie.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be more than glad to get a better product from Samsung and not pay to Sony its premium margin. Just not to trade off the screen quality for couple of additional GB of hard drive and the like.

Although chances are slim, I still hope for the BB model to be a sort of downgraded version of a better product. If true, this would be a very uninspired method for launching a nutty new product.

Sony has the lightest 15" laptop at ~ 4.4lbs. VAIO SE.

Sure. But it already has 8GB Espress Cache. It makes more sense to keep the 750GB 7200rpm in my opinion.

It's obviously the whole package weight, since the S7 15.6" is officially 2.2kg
