Default reinstalling samsung recovery solution III

hi, I recently reinstalled windows xp on my blue nc10 using the "system recovery media" disc that came in the box, but when I tried reinstalling all the samsung media with the "system software media" disc, the computer wouldn't complete reinstalling the samsung recovery solution III, saying instead that "there is no samsung recovery area in your hard disk drive. setup will be canceled".

what should I do to solve this, please?

Did you reformat the hard disk?

The Recovery Solution uses a special partition on the disk.

yeah, I think I deleted that hidden partition. in my defense, I'm pretty computer-illiterate and had only half a clue as to what the hell I was even doing.

am I screwed? have I destroyed my chances of reinstalling recovery forever? ):

You could contact Samsung support and ask if they have a utility to create the recovery partition on an empty HDD.

Did you clone the old HDD onto the new one? Cloning software (eg Acronis TrueImage) should copy over the hidden stuff (it used to, but i haven't tried cloning a Samsung HDD recently).

I'm planning to do a fresh install of Windows 7 on my Samsung Q320 in a few weeks.

Is this something I should bear in mind Re: Recovery Solution II?

When you say Samsung use a hidden partition, is this in addition to any partitions you can see in Windows Explorer?

If so, when I do my Windows 7 install, should I keep all partitions exactly as they are when asked during the install process?
    Samsung Q320, Piano Black:
    Intel Core 2 Duo P6400 2.00GHz | 3 GB DDR2 SDRAM | NVidia GeForce G105M 256Mb | 13.4" LED Backlit LCD | Fujitsu 320Gb 5400 RPM SATA HDD |
    Slot Loading DVD+/-RW | Intel 802.11b/g/n WLAN | Bluetooth | 6-Cell Li-Ion Battery | Windows 7 Ultimate |

If you are doing a fresh install, as in wiping the whole HD, then installing it from disc, you will destroy the samsung recovery solution. My Samsung has c drive, d drive and a hidden partition callled RECOVERY. Only Samsung can reinstall it.
Why are you doing a fresh install btw. If you have a problem, why not do a purchase point install. Using Samsung recovery solution it puts your pc back to the state when it was purchased. You end up with your hidden partition intact and c drive with a clean version of the operating system.
    Any more questions just ask.
