Default Samsung NP-R40 Restore factory settings

I have just inherited a sumsung R-40 running on windows xp home edition. Its running very very poor and i would like to return it to factory settings. I do not have a recovery disc to do this,i was wondering how i go about this.Is there somewhere i can download the correct item(s) and a idiot guide on how to go about doing it.

I have tried the search button and googled it but found no info.

Any help on this would be appreciated very very much.

    Thanks for your time.

Start by pressing F4 when the BIOS "Samsung" screen is showing. This will allow you to restore the original operating system from the recovery partition, if is there. (Also try the other Fn keys - F6 and F8 may do something).

Otherwise you will need to beg, borrow or buy an XP Home installation CD and use that for a new installation. You can use the Samsung key on the bottom to activate it. You can get the R40 drivers from SamsungPC.

You can get most of the Samsung Software and drivers off the Samsung website. The exception is programs such as PowerDVD.

Are you able to do a clean reinstallation of Windows?
