Re: Support group for those in wait
I too am still waiting on the laptop in my sig. I ordered July 24th, and if I didn't do the skinning option, it would probably be shipped by now. The custom build took 4 days. The skinning for the laptop monitor back is on day 13.
I could have had my car wrapped in vinyl several times in 13 days.

Re: Support group for those in wait
I guess the problem is that cars are not in as high demand as laptops

Guess you're right, cars you don't have to disassemble either. It's much easier to wrap an entire van than a surface with less than 2 square feet.

Next time, I should forget the skinning and trying to be cool, just get a bumper sticker and slap it on. Save time wasted (and money).
I keep checking my email as if I'm going to see a notification of being shipped (but I've done that for the past week every day). LOLLaptop: Sager NP9130 | 15.6” Matte Screen | i7-3610QM | 16GB RAM | nVidia 670M | 240GB Intel 520 SSD | 6x Blu-Ray | Killer Nic | Skinned

Re: Support group for those in wait
I don't actually like adorning my laptops, especially since they are so very prone to stealing. Not that it would help much if someone will notice my laptop unattended, but flicking open a highly customized and painted laptop (especially if there's an alien head on it) might cause people to covet it even more, especially for selling it later on.
But yeah, that's not the main reason. To each his own, of course, but I just like the laptop to play games as it should and get out of the way instead of bothering me with flashy lights and especially stuff like that:

Re: Support group for those in wait
Funny you mention Alienware -- my now old laptop is one -- m9700 from 2006. I put win8 beta on it for kicks (2.0 single proc, 2GB RAM - ya baby!). Unfortunately, can't run some of the newer tech I need for developing (actually hasn't been able to for a while). I agree with you about flash. This was one of those times when I chose the different path where normally I wouldn't have gone for a skinning.

Nah, don't mind me, I'm just saying nonsense because I'm giddy from the news about my laptop. Enjoy your skinned laptop and may you have it as quickly as possible!

Re: Support group for those in wait
Thanks!

According to the DHL site it is indeed scheduled to arrive tomorrow, I really hope that's indeed the case!
What tipped me over was actually another reseller that caused me a lot of headaches, so I searched for a reseller that has a good reputation, and so far MySN didn't fail me since they really went out of their way to help and send me the laptop as quickly as possible. I'm glad I went with them.
Now let's see the beauty when it arrives

Re: Support group for those in wait
Yeah, except you have a CPU two levels above mine

I hope it will suffice, though.
Will do on that review..
