Possible Solution to high idle Fan RPM!
Well seeing as so many of you are complaining about the fans, i will share my solution with you. This solution is not proven by any means but works for me.
1. start msi afterburner
2. play your game of choice
3. exit the game and wait 5-10 secs for gpu to cool down
4. in msi afterburner hit the "K" tab on the left to start Kombustor.
5. After 1-2 seconds the fans should go silent, when they do close Kombustor
this method works perfectly for me, if it doesnt try to close afterburner and open it again and repeat step 4.
I do not know if this method damages your GPU, so im not responsible for any damage you cause by trying this.
Note: my afterbuner temp. graph is well under 50, so i think im safe.PCS Vortex III: (P150EM)

Re: Possible Solution to high idle Fan RPM!
This actually seems consistent with my thoughts on the fan problem: when Optimus/Enduro switches to the integrated GPU, the dedicated one probably is completely "ignored", and leaves its fan exactly as it is at that moment.
I'd say it's a bad BIOS coding, maybe.

Re: Possible Solution to high idle Fan RPM!
I think the fan keeps running is becuase you have GPU monitoring program on, the GPU will rotate between default clock and idle clock when the dGPU is being monitored, you have to make sure all GPU monitoring programs are off if you don't want to use the dGPU. And slight usage (monitoring too) will prevent the dGPU from shutting down. Also the GPU temp in ThrottleStop will prevent the dGPU from shutting down too.

Re: Possible Solution to high idle Fan RPM!
Try open up CCC when all monitoring program are off, when I open up nvidia control panel on the GTX675M/GTX680M the fan turns off instantly when temp is below 45C.

This also happens with HM models. It would have been good if the EM had been updated with better fan control.
