Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
Folks, I am having random crashes while playing Max Payne 3 and its driving me absolutely nuts!!! Rebooting after the crash seams to help but the end result is I am still left with random crashes while playing Max Payne 3.
Anyone else having this issue with the 7970m?

You may want to google Max Payne 3. That's what the game does. Crash, black screens, CTD. Not a 7970m issue, Rockstar hates PC gamers, as if that was news. Keep crying about 7970m.. :-/

Re: Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
Listen Max Payne 3 is not the only problem I am having, Civilization GOds and Kings will crash constantly in DX 11 mode an issue other 7970m users have confirmed.
Listen I love my Clevo P150EM, and am very happy with the performance of the 7970m... WHEN IT WORKS!
I did not pay $3k for a laptop to be going through issues such as this. Some folks can be in denile all they want, fact is AMD released an unfinished product.
I am considering if Malibal will allow me to return my laptop and exchange for a 680m.

Re: Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
Yeah? Civ 5 Gods and Kings if you google also have issues. It's never the fault of the game developers I know. And it's never your fault. It's ALWAYS AMD's fault.
I know... I know... And somehow paying $3K on your laptop will make Rockstar developers give a rat's behind about your anger that your $3000 isn't running perfect. I know, it's ALWAYS AMD's fault. And it's definitely not because it's an Nvidia Meant to be Played huge money cash game.

Re: Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
At least you should isolate the problem by reinstalling stock drivers first.
Old laptop: MacBook (Late 2009) Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz, 2GB DDR3 1066 MHz Ram, GeForce 9400M
Current: (5/30) P150EM, i7-3610QM, 8GB DDR3 1333MHz RAM, AMD 7970M, Matte Screen, 750GB 7200RPM HDD

Re: Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
I've had Civ V since it was released and I've always gotten random crashes on the DX10/DX11 mode.
A lot of games have crashing issues that aren't related to the video card. Before you go ahead and blame the 7970M, do a Google search and see if it isn't something else. If you can't find a fix, then it may be a driver issue.Sager NP9150 | 15.6" 1920x1080 Matte Display | i7-3610QM (2.3GHz - 3.3GHz)| AMD Radeon 7970M | 8 GB DDR3 1333 Mhz | 500 GB 7200rpm HDD

Re: Random Crashes Max Payne 3 7970m 12.7 beta drivers
Listen... if you want to be a FAN BOY that's you choice.... not mine. Fact is I switched from a laptop with a 570m to this one and am playing the same games except now with the 7970m I have way more crashes.
I can't even run CIV Gods and Heros in DX 11 for more than 5 minutes without crashes. ALthough I so agree a lot of PC games have problems, if this was something all PC gamers were experiencing it would be patched.
FACT is the AMD 7970m with the current crap drivers is extremely problematic.
I agree with the statements about installing the stock drivers... however I am sick of doing that. I spent a week when i first got my laptop reinstalling the OS and drivers, I refuse to go down that road at this point.
