Let's say I set my anti-virus to high performance. Would that be possible, too? Or how about opening Notepad and setting that to high performance. I like your idea and I'm just wondering out loud, I guess.
I've actually tried setting HWiNFO to High Performance so that when it starts, it will see the GPU temps. The problem is, even if you set it to high performance, it doesn't look like the GPU switches until it has to (probably to be more power efficient).

Just tried it with Notepad. That doesn't seem to work either.

So far games I play have been able to match what I see being posted on AW with Enduro off.

My method, I simply just click on Kombuster. I don't run any benchmark etc. Just have it open. I have switchable graphics in CCC set to disable on notifying on unassigned applications. I just have Kombuster listed as high performance. For whatever reason, Kombuster gets my 7970M activated instantly, and ready to rock.

Max Payne 3 averaging about 70 FPS.
    What I have tried:

Default Clevo drivers, several 12.6/.7 revisions, 9.00 12.x leak. 9.00 works best, but still not great.

Disabling the ultra low power state or starting a 3d program allows monitoring software to "see" my 7970m immediately, but it does nothing to fix the utilization issues because I never had difficulty with the switchable graphics settings. My drivers detect high perf applications nicely, but utilization is low in those programs after the 7970m is enabled.

Utilization drops to 60% at times in Just Cause 2, Crysis 2, and a few other games. Witcher 2 is better, and 3DMark11 never had any issues except a low combined score with the default drivers. Interestingly, the utilization drops are reproducible. They ALWAYS happen at the same place in the Adrenaline C2 benchmark and the campaign; the same goes for JC2. To me, they seem too reproducible to be some random glitch.

CPU utilization also drops with GPU utilization. Neither the CPU nor the GPU are throttling. Something is starving the GPU, but I have no reason to believe it is the CPU directly.

Interestingly, the low combined score in 3DMark11 resulted from a situation similar to what I see with games. Low CPU and GPU utilization led to a 20% performance deviation from expected. The 9.00 drivers fixed that issue, but not the problems observed in games. That gives me hope.

Hulawafu77, 70FPS on max? If so, that sounds incredible.

Thanks for giving that a try. I wish AMD would get to the bottom of all this sooner than later. I love my laptop but I'm not convinced I've seen its true potential yet.
