Sager / clevo high performance options

I am looking for a 120hz glossy display, seems they are not being sold with sager? Is this right? Why is a high end maker not producing these displays in laptops?

Also what is known about key rollover on the 17 inch plus models? I would like a laptop with 6KRO and thought that maybe these would be the ones to offer it.

The NP8170 did have the 3D screen option. It might be available for the NP9170 down the line.

Also do the mounting systems for the motherboards and so on stay pretty consistent from year to year? IE I wonder if it would be possible to buy just the motherboard, cpu and gpu to upgrade a sager?

No, the motherboards and chassis layouts tend to differ with pretty much every new release. Clevo tends to put out a new design when new chipets are introduced, so for example the new EM motherboards aren't swappable into the HM series they replaced. The CPU upgradability is dependent on chipset. The hew HM77 chipset supports both Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge, while the HM65/67 chipsets were only Sandy Bridge. It's the same as it is in the desktop world as far as that goes. GPU support varies depending on the MXM standard. Right now, most current cards are compatible as long as you stick with MXM 3.0b which is current. If Nvidia decides to change the standard in the future, then it would break compatibility as well.

In short, nothing is guaranteed with upgrades. Generally speaking you can upgrade to any CPU/GPU that is available with the model when it goes on sale. Anything other than that depends on whether the compatibility is there.
