Sager has plenty of NP8170 replacement parts in the repair facility. You shouldn't expect a free upgrade.

Re: np8170 wont start rma?
.....you spilled soup on the keyboard....? /facepalm
if it wont turn on, you most likely toasted your motherboard. You can't return it, they'll inspect it and see what you did lol.. probably will cost a pretty penny to repair.
I'd suggest maybe disassembling it and cleaning it properly, but judging by the nature of this thread, I don't see that going well for you.

Liquid and physical damage is usually easy to spot and unless you had an accidental policy, it's not something that's going to be covered. Unfortunately, you'd be out the cost of all the parts needed to repair it.

You'll need to open the computer and take it apart, to clean it out as best you can, then let it dry.
Your warranty is toast, though.
Check this out, which coincidentally just happened to me with mine:
I've been having some electrical motherboard issues with my machine for like 6 months. A month ago, my friend splashed a small bit of water on my keyboard, which I just wiped off and let dry. Well, I finally RMA my notebook a couple weeks ago, and just the droplets of water residue they found under my keyboard voided my warranty. So they wanted $495 to replace the motherboard, regardless of whether the water caused the issue. My solution was too just have them send it back to me unrepaired, and my friend has agreed to put the $400 towards a P170EM barebone.
Your situation is much worse than mine. Hopefully you powered it off, removed the battery, and flipped it onto something to help it drain. That would have helped it to not seep all the way through your machine.
Take the keyboard off and assess how much of a mess it is. Also, what kind of soup was it?
p.s. - don't be surprised if the machine comes back to life in a few days, if you're lucky. Usually the keyboard has to be replaced, as the ribbon getting wet will cause it to malfunction.P170HM | i7-2630QM | 6970M | 8GB 1333MHz RAM | CM4 128GB SSD | 320GB 7200.4 | BRD

Re: np8170 wont start rma?
Nos. I spilled liquid on my keyboard, and for that I deserve to die right? Go see a doctor bro
Hizzah. Facepalm??? Spilling something is as common as rain. What are you facepalming for? Are you guys joking?
Otherguy. Thanks a lot. I opened it up and didn't see to much soup, I cleaned what I could. When I opened it up I have a hard time believing the soup caused a short. The laptop ribbon pulled out and is impossible to plug back in. As the cables are sandwiched between the keyboard and the motherboard. Only god knows how the heck safer put it together.

Yep, he's joking. You actually get a headdesk for that. If spilling something is that common, why would you keep spillable substances by your expensive computer?

Did he spill something on your laptops? Why are you being so insensitive?
