Re: np8170 wont start rma?
Sorry. I'm slightly annoyed right now because I just spent 3 hours mining gamefaqs archived forums looking for a piece of ASCII and didn't find it. I guess I'm just killing time until ivy. Also, I don't have a laptop yet. Should I edit that post?

How much of the laptop did you actually take apart? did you take the keyboard off?

Re: np8170 wont start rma?
I was just going to send it as is. But I had a second thought and found a way to take out the keyboard. When i opened it up man was it a mess. Keyboard was crunchy. I cleans it up using warm soap water and a pin. All of it looks spotless with no signs of corrosion. Very clean. What i do notice is small pitmarks on the lithium ion quarter sized battery. And a burn Mark that just looks like a circular black soot mark that does not come off. I think my battery got fried. Do you guys know if a aborted cmos battery would prevent the laptop from powering on?

Again, closing this thread since your clearly trying to return a laptop you damaged. If one of the resellers wants to help you out in repairing your laptop or giving you tips on cleaning it, take it to the PM system please. Since you have clearly demonstrated a willingness to commit fraud this thread is closed.
