Default CPUz says my i7-2629m is a i3-2310m? What to do?

Ohayou i have bought a re-branded laptop from the local market. It comes with the following specifications:

    i7 2629M @ 2.10Ghz
    3GB Ram
    500GB 7200rpm
    6cell battery with 90w adapter

I have it since last 1 week and it works fine but when i installed CPUz it read my CPU as 2310m now i dont know what should i do. The laptop stays cool and even under load is not very hot to handle. CPUz freq gets stuck at 2.1Ghz and never goes above the limit of 2.1Ghz even when Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor says the processor is at 3.0Ghz but it does not name the cpu it just says intel without i7 logo.

What is going on? Will my 2629M being identified as 2310m create problem in future? I already reinstalled my OS once should i do it again?

Solution: Move mouse cursor to upper right corner of CPU-Z window -> Highlight red X -> Left-click to close CPU-Z -> Ignore CPU-Z -> Enjoy your new notebook in peace

They probably haven't updated CPUz to detect it properly. If Windows is showing the right one, then just take Kevin's advice and ignore the software and go enjoy your new machine

Can you post a print screen of your HWINFO summary please.

If it is a 2310M then it is an I3 and it will say so and you will have no turbo boost options, a screenshot will be able to confirm that. Will also confirm the stepping can only think you have an engineering sample because the 2629M is not 2.1ghz as your computer summary is showing... :/

Yeah, no worries. Your CPU is showing up correctly and at the correct speed in Windows. My bet is just that it's an unusual processor and not in enough demand to be added to the other software monitors yet.
