I suspect thats only for the benchmark programm ludashi? So probably doesnt give any real info about temperatures on full load, if its just the benchmark ludashi

Sorry for the long post, just found this topic again.

The limit is that the SB motherboard chipset doesn't support IVB. However, the IVB motherboard chipset DOES support SB so if they ship with the ICV MB chip but with a SB installed we should be able to slip in a IVB when it becomes available.

At least thats the rumor that I'm choosing to believe as it gives me hope.

That rumor is correct.

If I'm someone interested in gaming capability/battery life/web browsing but not CPU intensive stuff like video-editing, is it even worth my time to wait for Ivy Bridge?

It's worth it. Ivy gives significantly more battery performance under load.

lol 16gb ram, wow i thought the 128bit gddr3 was going to be a killer for me and make me wait and see how the m11x r4 does... but this thing.....wowow

still need to see how the battery life is, 6 hours is ok lol, idk, if alienware comes out with m11x r4 with gt 650m 192bit and with the i7 ulv which gets a respectable 2.0ghz, with 3.0ghz turbo, i might have to get that since i expect battery life to be a bit higher with that one.... just wait and see.... so excited cant wait to put my m14x on clist and trade for a smaller lighter laptop with stronger graphics 2012!!!!!

I don't think there is a 192bit 650m...

i think there are some 35w quad cores coming out too, but they are OEM

the Core i7-3615QM, Core i7-3612QM and Core i7-3610QM...... basically missing inbetween the i5 3520m and i7 3720qm..... they are like 2.0ghz base compared to 2.6 for the 3720qm so that might put them into the 35w range.....or maybe they would let us put in a i7 3667u 17w and squeeze out some more battery life

3610QM is 45W, and it's 2.3Ghz.
