Okay I think I figured it out. At some point the manual "off" button was tripped for the antenna I think. I pressed it on and off a few times, and then left it on...it hasn't (thus far) demonstrated the same problem again. Not sure what the issue was, I've certainly never pressed that button before and nobody uses my laptop but me. Who knows.
