Well, I can't find the v.1 anywhere that says 'exact, not a substitute'. If I could, I'd get it. However, since I can't, the v.3 actually has more brightness than my current screen, which I find more than adequate.

Actually, I was looking at different options, and I saw the LG LP156WF1 (TL)(F1). It has apparently 300 nits brightness. Does anyone have eperience with this screen? how good quality is it?

I'm pretty sure the LG LP156WF1 is the same screen used in the Dell Latitude E6520 and the current HP DV6t (they stopped using the AUO screen).

I checked out a 1080p E6520 in my university's boosktore and the screen looks quite good.

I think I will go for that one, since it is available on Ebay from a seller closer than Taiwan. I don't really want to wait a month for ScreenInTaipei. It is also cheaper.

    Got my machine back.

Same screen model, but no defect.

So correct me if i'm wrong...a higher gamut screen is more likely to have more issues (ghosting and such) than a lower gamut screen?

This is what I get out of this discussion: Not all high gamut screens will have this issue. Out of this particular line (B156HW01), it happens to be the high gamut versions that have this issue. That's why I got a 60% gamut screen. Actually, I didn't even get an AUO screen, I got the LG LP156WF1. It should be here Wednesday.

I am on my second np8150 and both have done it

This one only has it down a strip of the screen, other one had it in 3 areas, but this screen has 1 dead and 1 stuck pixel and return period all gone because took sager 4 weeks to get me a replacement working laptop.

oh well, just glad after waiting months I finally have one. Got first laptop on 7/14 and it was defective, from than till now was spent part swapping only to have entire laptop die and finally get replaced.

Great laptop, reseller was great, but sager dropped the ball in my eyes. And this one came after the so called "they are checking screens closer" thing started...

Maybe talk to your reseller and see what they can do for you. It seems that the resellers on here tend to bend over backward to help out their customers.
